Analysis of Student Videos, Digipaks and Adverts

What I Have Learn't:
I have learnt that when making your video its extremely important to show a location that make it look professional and different to what anyone else has don before. The overall professional look of your work can make people want to watch it more, and seem more realistic that it has been made on a large budget. The digipak and advert are crucial as i have learnt that you much link these to what you are going to show in your video as otherwise it can look disjointed and like its not meant for that video. Colours and editing techniques are really important as the advert is the first thing to draw in an audience and gives them and idea about what genre and type of music video you are creating, making them want to purchase the digipak and watch your video.

Branding Research

What I Have Learn't:

I have learnt that your logo, is extremely important as it tells you lots of things about the artist/s and what genre of music that they produce is. Also how you portray yourself in the media is extremely important because it can either ruin your career or make you more successful and being in the media all the time isn't always the best thing. Finally, how you dress and portray your self image is important because it allows people to gain an insight on your personality and decide whether they like you or not and listen to the music that you produce. Also you will find that working in synergy when creating a brand as an music artist is extremely important, it makes people/ the audience more aware of you and what you're like as a person it also enable the audience to feel more involved and more like a fan. For example Nicki Minaj worked in synergy with Mac cosmetics to bring out a selection of lipsticks that personally she would wear and that represents her personality.

Analysis of Digipak Posters

What I Have Learn't:
I have learnt that the digipak poster is also extremely important as it gives out the information about the album where the digipak doesn't. It also needs to be attractive to encourage people to by the album and read the poster. The digipak poster will give the audience an indication of what to expect and an insight into the music that they're going to release. This is important as its the first thing fans see before album is released.

Advanced Editing Techniques

What I Have Learn't:
I have learnt how editing can make a sequence look dramatically different and add interest to the clip, I've also  learnt how to edit clips together seamlessly and for this type of editing technique how important it is to keep the frame of the videos the same for each clip or it just doesn't work. I will potentially use this in my music video as i feel like it shows that i can edit to an advance level and it will also make our video more interesting to watch. By using advanced editing techniques it shows individuality,makes your video stand out and memorable.

Analysis of Digipaks

What I Have Learn't:
I have learn't that the design of your digipak must not only be aesthetically pleasing but also can tell you a lot about the genre of the music and the artist/s them self. The album cover is really important as represents the artist and a lot of people recognise the artists through their album covers. Overall an attractive digipak is important as it attracts the audience and tells you about the artist and genre.
